Welcome to mymoneypots.com

mymoneypots has been developed out of an appreciation for the difficulty of making and keeping to a budget. mymoneypots has been designed based on a simple old fashioned budgeting technique: splitting the monthly income up and putting the cash into different labelled pots; 'groceries' or 'clothes' for example. Money was taken out of the pots for spending in each area as needed. When the money was gone from a pot there could be no more spending in this area.

Fast forward to the 21st century and mymoneypots provides the same principles in an easy to use system. Like all budgeting tools mymoneypots requires your time and effort to make it work for you.

A free budgeting tool in 3 easy to use phases

Stage 1

The mymoneypots budget setting process asks you to input your net income for the month. This is the income that you receive after tax and national insurance. You can also include bonuses and other sources of income here. The budget setting process next allows you to allocate your income to moneypots, grouped into categories.

Stage 2

Every time you spend money this needs to be recorded, whether it be cash, card or cheque. The mymoneypots record spending form is easy to use. Enter your spending against each moneypot and the amount you have available in each pot will decrease accordingly. Some users prefer to do this daily and some once a month. Do whatever works for you.

Stage 3

The mymoneypots review spending and moneypots balance tools help you understand where where you money is going and how much you have available in each area. So before you dash off on a spending spree, check how much you have left in your pot for the month!
